The idea of establishing the “Jordanian Youth Democratic Forum” was emerged from the need to allow the participation of youth themselves in accomplishing the missions included in the program of youth studies at the center, which mainly aimed for raising the level of attention for youth category and studying the challenges facing their participation in public work. The forum has worked for setting projects and implementing activities which contribute in polishing skills of youth and their knowledge and to expand their participation in the research and discussion of public national issues. The forum aims also for training youth and rehabilitating them so as to increase their contribution in political, social and voluntary work.
Since its establishment in 2002, the forum has accomplished a series of various political, cultural, technical and amusement activities, which got the attention and participation of increasing youth categories, who came from various environments and backgrounds, and the youth’s dialogues at their forums showed their great courage and awareness and many of them had the chance to get further involvement in public work. Being convinced for the need to encourage dialogue among generations, the forum has contributed in an active role in urging youth to participate in various activities of the center, where youth were given the chance for dialogue and exchange of ideas with Jordanian political and intellectual elites, both official and civilian, in a way in which youth gained more awareness of public issues and affairs on one side and provided for the political elites and decision makers better chances to get to know youth’s problems and their interests, and this is one of the most important goals of the forum.
